MEET OUR SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE

FOUNDING OF LABORATOIRES FILORGA

Let’s start from the beginning of the adventure! FILORGA is the first French laboratory of aesthetic medicine, created in 1978 by Dr. Michel Tordjman, a French aesthetic doctor with a passion for cellular biology.

After years of research into skin aging, Dr. Tordjman was a pioneer in aesthetic medicine by developing a revitalizing injectable solution that could act on key skin quality parameters.

In order to make our anti-aging expertise accessible to everyone, FILORGA used the same active ingredients of this injectable solution to create NEW CELLULAR ENCAPSULATED FACTORS (NCEF), a topical complex that encapsulates hyaluronic acid, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, co-enzymes, and antioxidants. NCEF is at the heart of FILORGA's unique formula and is integrated in all of our skin care products* to offer real anti-aging performance.

WHY DOES FILORGA HAVE A SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE?

FILORGA continuously strives to respect Dr. Tordjman's legacy by using, in addition to NCEF, techniques inspired by aesthetic medicine to develop all of our products.

To support our efforts, FILORGA has a scientific committee of world-renowned scientific and medical experts, who help us to improve our knowledge of aesthetic medicine and provide their expertise during the development and testing of our products.

WHO ARE THE MEMBERS OF OUR SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE?

Five members with different professions and from different countries make up our scientific committee in order to have a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural approach.

We are honored to have as part of our committee:

  • Dr. Claire Sabastier-Cabrol, a French aesthetic doctor, had a vision that aesthetic medicine helps with skin aging well and not the anti-aging process. According to her, aesthetic medicine, nutrition, lifestyle, and cosmetics prevent and slow down the effects of time on the skin.

  • Dr. Sylvie Poignonec, a French plastic and aesthetic surgeon, is a recognized expert for her work on the palliative treatment of facial paralysis. She is regularly quoted in the media for her work on self-image and the role of physical appearance in the workplace.

  • Pr. Luca Piovano, an Italian plastic surgeon, is internationally recognized as an authority on micro-invasive techniques. He is well known for his clinical research into both established and innovative technologies and aesthetic treatments. His vision of plastic surgery is a New Surgical Specialty: involved in both maintaining the appearance and restoring the function of the skin.

  • Dr. Thierry Oddos, PhD, who graduated with a degree in cell and molecular biology. Dr. Oddos started his career in different pharmaceutical companies and, then, joined Johnson & Johnson where, during his successive roles, he was involved in developing new scientific concepts around aging skin to ensure sustainability of the anti-aging business for different brands and was awarded twice as one of the most innovative scientists of the J&J scientific community. Member of the board of the cosmetic valley and of working groups of COLIPA (European Federation of Cosmetics Industries), he has authored more than 30 peer reviewed scientific articles and filed over 20 patents.

  • Pr. Julie Thornton, a Professor in Cutaneous Biology in the UK. She is the academic director of the Centre for Skin Sciences. Her research is based on the cellular and molecular processes underlying the skin and hair biology.

  • WHAT IS THE ROLE OF OUR SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE?

During the development process of our products, we interview the experts of our scientific committee to benefit from their vision to design effective products that correspond to women's and men’s needs.
